For nearly 200 years vinegar as been used as a weight loss aid. But does it work? Yes! A high quality twelve week study in Japan shoed that 2 tbs of vinegar resulted in the loss of about 5 pounds and loss of 1 inch around the waist without making any dietary or exercize changes.
This study prepared three drinks one with 2 tbs of vinegar, another with 1 tbs, and a third drink with a different acid that make them taste the same. They monitored the participants diet to insure there were not changes; and gave them a pedometer to insure not significant change in activity.
However, this by itself is not the solution. After the study the 2 tbs group regains most of the weight they lost during the study.
